WhatsApp’s New Feature: Android Users May Soon Mark All Chats as Read with One Tap
WhatsApp is developing a new shortcut for Android users, enabling them to mark all chats as read instantly. This feature, currently in beta testing, aims to simplify chat management for users.
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new tool to enhance chat management on Android, allowing users to mark all chats as read with a single tap. According to WABetaInfo, a platform dedicated to tracking WhatsApp updates, this feature is expected to streamline handling conversations on Android devices.
Spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.11, the new feature introduces an option in the overflow menu located in the top-right corner of the screen. This shortcut will be available next to the "Starred" messages option, providing an easy way to update all unread messages to “Read” status simultaneously. This update is expected to mirror the convenience of the “Mark Read” option already available on iOS.
Currently, Android users must manually open each chat or select them individually to mark messages as read, making this new shortcut a significant time-saver.
New Update: Availability and Features
As of now, this feature is in development, and it may not be available to all beta users under the Google Play Beta program. Once released, the shortcut will enable users to streamline inbox management on WhatsApp, ensuring they stay up-to-date with conversations effortlessly.
